The 14th Annual Yaga Chili Festival and Beer Festival

You will want to go hungry at this event because there will be chili cooking and chili tasting. There will also be an indoor beer festival where you can sample from breweries across the country.

Riots and scandals at the Houston Symphony

Enjoy the works that “stunned the arts institutions of their day” during the second weekend of this festival. This weekend, try Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring, Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and Rvoeltas Sensimaya.

Jesus Christ is a star

This touring production of Jesus Christ Superstar comes to life on stage in Houston. The rock opera, which debuted over 50 years ago, features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice.

Agatha Christie’s double billing for Poirot

Clear Creek Community Theater presents A Poirot Double Bill by Agatha Christie as well as Adventure of the Western Star, three one-act plays featuring “The World’s Greatest Detective Hercule Poirot”.

When: Jan. 19-21 at 8 p.m.; January 21-22 at 2 p.m

Houston Astros Fanfest

Calling all Astros fans! Here’s your chance to meet the World Series champions, get an autograph, watch the World Series trophy and more. There will also be games, photo opportunities, live music, and food trucks. The vouchers are worth $1 and include many activities such as the Family Fun Zone and the Arcade Game Zone. Other activities—like some autograph sessions, pictures with the trophy, or swinging the batting cages—cost more.

Seventh Annual Hops N’ Hot Sauce Festival

Sip on some craft beer, eat some spicy food, or enjoy a chili-eating contest at this festival. There will be dozens of shopping vendors, food trucks, and free photo booths.

Pearland Lunar New Year Festival

This free, family-friendly event is hosted by the Pearland China Association. Booths of local groups will showcase traditional Asian culture, arts and crafts, and more. There will also be food, calligraphy, Chinese paintings, face painting, origami art, tai chi, games, and more.

Unspeakable live
