Jerry Jones would welcome the Dallas Cowboys QB controversy because it would mean a Cooper Rush win

Frisco, TX – Owner and General Manager Jerry Jones wants Cooper Rush To make life difficult for the Dallas Cowboys.

He wants Rush, the reserve midfielder, to play so well that there will be debate over whether it will Duck Prescott He will take the starting role once he is healthy enough to play after undergoing surgery on his right thumb last week.

“Of course I will,” Jones said. “Of course. That means we would have won.” “If he comes in there and plays as well as Prescott did, Rush? He plays that well during these next games? I’m going to New York to get that.”

While Jones spoke, thoughts of 2016. Prescott was a freshman pick in the fourth round that year, making up for injured Tony Romo, who injured his back in a pre-season game. After losing that year’s inaugural season, the Cowboys won a franchise record of 11 consecutive games and Romo never regained his position initially. Can Rush do that?

“Well, I don’t know that,” Jones said. “You can’t find in the scoring where I said I thought Dak Prescott could do it when he got in and had the chance to do it. But he did.”

Rush will make his second straight start on Monday against the New York Giants and only the third of his career. The Cowboys won each of Rush’s starts in the last minute rounds, including winning a 50-yard field goal to beat the Cincinnati Bengals 20-17 last week.

There is one flaw in Jones’ thought process. Unlike Romo’s injury when the Cowboys learned he would miss two months, Jones believes there is a chance Prescott will return on October 2 against the Washington leaders.

“Well, of course we want Duck to be here next week,” Jones said. “Here’s the thing. You do. But I and Duck want Rush to lead the team to victory here and take another win and get another win. That’s the only way to look at it. Looking back when Duck was playing for Tony, it was game after game. It wasn’t the long look we had two months later to go back in. It was actually play-by-play, almost series after series. So I think maybe Rush could come in here and play at a level to win games the way Prescott did when he took charge of Romo?Yes I do. Yes I do. I definitely think it’s possible.”

Prescott hasn’t had the stitches removed from his thumb yet. He underwent rehab and conditioning during a portion of Thursday’s practice that was open to the media.

In the wake of the season’s opening loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, sources said Prescott will be out for 6 to 8 weeks, but the club has received positive news from the surgeon that it could be a four-week absence, if not sooner.

“I’ll tell you it won’t be because anyone is worried about getting hurt [again]Jones said, “If we’re worried [it’s] Because of his grip and strength in his fist. But is it possible for him to play in four weeks and sleep at night with or without being hurt, the answer is yes.”

But let’s go back to the possibility that Rush is more than just a sponsor. When asked what external narratives Prescott needed to study the Rush tape, Ezekiel Elliot smiley.

“Only people on TV get clicks, get views, they’ll say the most horrible things and get the most attention. That’s their job. Who knows if they really believe it?”

But what about the time Jones says he hopes he’ll have a “dilemma,” when Prescott is healthy?

“He wants you all to lick him and listen to him too,” Elliot laughed. “It’s all marketing, man. It’s all marketing.”
