Jersey City, NJ, September 23research and development2022 – The LPGA and Mizuho Americas, the New York City-based arm of one of the world’s largest financial institutions, announced today that the Mizuho Americas Open will take place from May 29 to June 4, 2023, at the prestigious Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, New Jersey. .

The Mizuho Americas Open will mark the first time the Liberty National has welcomed the LPGA Tour, after hosting several world-class events, including the Presidents Cup and several PGA TOUR playoff stations. The tournament will see the world’s best golfers compete for a $2.75 million purse, one of the largest non-major tournament purses on the LPGA Tour’s 2023 season calendar, against the backdrop of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty.

In addition, the Mizuho Americas Open will concurrently host the AJGA Invitational Tournament, which will provide the opportunity for 24 junior golfers on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Tour to compete alongside the 120-player LPGA Tour course for their singles title. This unique format marks the first time that the AJGA and LPGA have collaborated to showcase today’s superstars who are competing inside the ropes with the game’s future, creating an unprecedented week of education and access to inspire the next generation of LPGA Tour players.

The multi-year agreement between the LPGA, Mizuho Americas, and Liberty National marks the World Bank’s first entry into sports sponsorship in the United States. He will serve as the tournament host and brand ambassador for Mizuho.

Mizuho Americas Open is launching at a time of record world LPGA growth. One of the oldest professional women’s sports organizations in the world, the 2022 tournament will feature 32 tournaments offering prizes of $93.5 million to athletes representing more than 35 countries.

Founded in 2006, Liberty National Golf Club will challenge the world’s best golfers, while offering some of the most stunning views in golf. The iconic venue will add the LPGA Tour to its impressive lineup, having already hosted some of the highlights in professional golf.
