PORTLAND, OR (AP) — Eva Hodgson scored 14 of her 21 points during the fourth quarter making shots, and eighth-ranked North Carolina rallied on several occasions in the second half and topped 18th-ranked Oregon 85-79 in the semifinals. From Phil Knight’s call on Thursday.

Hodgson scored 10 points in 90 seconds of the fourth quarter after it looked like the Ducks were about to fold. Hodgson’s four-point play with 5:12 left gave North Carolina a 72-68 lead. Oregon pulled within 74-73, but Hodgson hit four free throws down the stretch, boxed around Destiny Adams’ basket, and the Tar Heels held on.

Alyssa Ostby added 19 points for North Carolina (5-0) and the Tar Heels put five players in double figures. Deja Kelly scored 17 points, Anya Paul added 11, and Kennedy Todd Williams added 10.

Te Hina Baobao led Oregon (4-1) with 18 points, Grace Vanslotten added 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Gina Eisai added 15 points. But the Ducks would mourn the chances they had to take away from the game, as they led by 11 in the opening moments of the second half and held on to a 66-58 lead with 7:34 remaining after starting the fourth quarter with an 11-2 lead.
