Mississippi State (8-4, 4-4 SEC), snapping a two-game losing streak in the series, rebounded from a 16-7 deficit in the second quarter with a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter. Massimo Biscardi hit the go-ahead 34-yard field goal before Rogers connected on a 22-yard touchdown pass to Rara Thomas to build a 24-16 lead with 7:58 remaining.

Ole Miss (8-4, 4-4 SEC) answered when Jaxson Dart threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Dayton Wade with 1:25 left, capping it off with a 99-yard drive and shutout within 24-22.

After an Ole Miss timeout to set up the two-point attempt, Mississippi State defense tackled Randy Charlton shuttling a Dart pass to preserve Mississippi State’s advantage. JB Purvis recovered the guaranteed kick from his side to seal it, leading to a post-match celebration that was unfazed by the incessant rain.
